"Global challenges require global solutions. Multilateralism is the key to solving our shared problems and creating a future of prosperity and peace." – Antonio Guterres (UN Secretary-General)

jlgMUN 2025 – Young voices. Real debates. Global perspectives.

From June 18–21, our school became a place where global issues were not just discussed but lived: jlgMUN 2025 brought together 180 students from 17 schools across Egypt, Czech Republic, New Zealand, and Germany to debate, negotiate, and find solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges.

The conference opened with a moving ceremony at the French Embassy. Chris Melzer from UNHCR delivered a powerful speech that reminded us what is at stake when we talk about conflict and displacement, while Alma Gretenkord from the Young DGAP inspired delegates to take ownership of the future they will shape.

For three days, our corridors echoed with English speeches, informal negotiations, and the quiet concentration of young delegates drafting resolutions. The conference closed with a ceremony in our assembly hall, marking the end of a conference that was filled with courage, respectful disagreements, and the joy of finding common ground.

Why does MUN matter? Because it trains young people to listen. To speak up. To see the complexity behind headlines. It encourages critical thinking, empathy, and the courage to take a stance – skills that matter, inside and outside the classroom.
